Entrepreneurs share stories of blood, sweat and tears at PTE Tutong (23.8.2017)

The Business department of Tutong Sixth Form Centre (PTE Tutong) hosted an entrepreneurship talk for its Year 12 Lower Sixth students. New Gate Plus, a software company and Take5.bn, a cafe business, shared their stories of sweat, blood and tears.

Md Firdaus bin Zulkipli, a former student of PTE Tutong founded Take5.bn cafe in May 2016, when cafe businesses were booming in the Sultanate.

The other speaker, Agus Muslim Jaenuddin established New Gate Plus Company in March 2015. As an award-winning Information Technology (IT) developer start-up, the passionate and creative young Bruneian aspire to solve global challenges through IT solutions.

Program IMAN - Sesi Warkah 2017 (16.8.2017 - 17.8.2017)

The event began with opening remarks delivered by the Principal. A briefing session was then delivered by invited speaker, Ustaz Hj Mohd Syahiran bin Hj Md Sofian, Dean of KUPUSB, titled "Role of parents in preparing their children to face upcoming examinations".





The event concluded with the presentation of a token of appreciation from the school to the invited speaker.

Twinning programme fosters friendship and builds maturity (9.8.2017)

The Tutong Sixth Form Centre (PTE Tutong) spent five days in Singapore from 31st July to 4th August 2017, as part of the school twinning programme with Tampines Junior College (TPJC) Singapore.

Its main objective was to foster international friendship and understanding among Singaporean and Bruneian students. In addition to the school immersion, which doubtless is an unforgettable memory for PTET students with their TPJC buddies, the students have also grown in maturity and independence during the short trip away from family.



The Brunei delegation also visited historical places of interest and cultural landmarks, including the Chinatown, Little India, Kampong Glam, Arab Street, Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage, Merlion Park, Urban Redevelopment Agency (URA) City Gallery, Peranakan Museum and the National Museum.





PTET was represented by Cg Azrin as head of delegation, supported by Cg Adyani and Cg Onn. While at TPJC, their tutors - Ms Janet Leong, Ms Chong Keting, Mrs Agnes Teo and Mr Tan Chee Boon - were very hospitable and accommodating.

PTET students visit to Tampines Junior College, Singapore (31.7.2017)

On 31 July 2017, 12 PTET students and 3 tutors departed for Singapore to join the 5-day school twinning programme at Tampines Junior College, Singapore.

The school twinning programme is under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Education of Brunei Darussalam and Singapore

PTET conquered Bukit Ambok (29.7.2017)

On 29 July 2017, PTET staff and tutors, as well as members of PIBG (Parents Association), went on an after-school Lakau-Lakau team-building activity by hiking 2.7km trail on Bukit Ambok, Tutong.

Exciting knowledge sharing and language week by DBP at PTET (19.7.2017)

In the most recent Skills for Brunei Vision 2035 (SBV35), a signature academic programme of the college, the Language and Literature Bureau (DBP) was invited by the Malay Language and Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) departments to host a programme themed "knowledge sharing and Malay language week".

Cg Almasri bin Hj Sulaiman, deputy principal administration represented the college in exchanging tokens of appreciation with the Dyg Annisa binti Hj Moksin, in her capacity as the Acting Head of Language Empowerment of the bureau.




Quizzes, crossword puzzles in Malay language, Jawi (Arabic scripture) writings were amongst the miscellaneous activities held, with magazines and books published by the bureau being awarded as prize incentives.

PTET celebrates His Majesty's birthday celebrations in Tutong District (18.7.2017)

This morning, students, tutors and non-teaching staff of the college joined thousands of other citizens from Tutong District in showering their appreciation and love for the Sultanate's monarch during His Majesty's visit to the district.



Some students and tutors also joined in presenting an art exhibit from the college for His Majesty.
