Basic Counselling Training Session for PTET Tutors - Day 2 of 2 (23.05.2024)


On 23rd May 2024, PTET tutors completed their two-day basic counselling training. This essential program aimed to equip tutors with fundamental counselling skills to better support students’ emotional and psychological well-being.



The second day of the training focused on practical applications, role-playing scenarios, and interactive workshops, building on the theoretical knowledge gained on the first day. The sessions were well-received, with tutors expressing confidence in their enhanced ability to provide meaningful support to students. This initiative underscores PTET’s commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive educational environment for both staff and students.



PTET Netball Team Competed in BDSN Premier Cup 2024 (23.05.2024)

PTET Netball team demonstrated their prowess at the BDSN Premier Cup 2024, held at Sekolah Menengah Awang Semaun on May 23rd, 2024. 


While securing victory against Sekolah Menengah Masin, they encountered a tough challenge against Anthony Able College, ending in defeat. Despite the outcome, the school commends the team’s sportsmanship and unwavering dedication. PTET remains proud of their efforts, encouraging them to maintain their spirit for future matches and tournaments. The team’s commitment reflects PTET’s holistic approach to development.

PTET Tutors to Attend Workshop on Introduction to TAFIS 2.0 (22.05.2024)

On 22nd May 2024, PTET tutors and staff responsible for finance administration attended a workshop on “Introduction to Tafis 2.0.” Held last Wednesday at the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE) from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, the briefing provided attendees with valuable insights into the functionalities and benefits of the new Tafis 2.0 system. 




This training is set to enhance their efficiency and accuracy in handling financial tasks within the school, ensuring better resource management and streamlined administrative processes. The participants left the workshop equipped with enhanced skills and knowledge, ready to implement Tafis 2.0 in their daily operations.

PTET L6 (2024) student, Luqman attends Sakura Science Programme, Japan (22.5.2024)





Berakas - Ministry of Education through Science, Technology and Environment Partnership Centre (STEP Centre), has nominated five (05) students and two (02) supervising teachers to participate in the Sakura Science High School Program (SSHP) 2024 organised by Japan Science And Technology Agency (JST), on the 19th – 25th May 2024, in Japan.

The selected students are those who are studying at the Pre-U level aged 15 and above and based on their excellence and interest in Science and Technology. The program aims to expose students to Japan’s science and technology, culture, and people in a multilateral environment by visiting leading universities and research institutions, attend lectures on advanced science and technology and experiencing the cutting-edge of science and technology, including hands-on experiments demonstrated by world-leading scientists. In addition, the program also aims to foster multilateral interaction and strengthen ties with the students from Japan, India, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, and Thailand and hence also to broaden the experiences of our students in Japanese culture and the people.

 

The members of the delegation are Nurfa'eqah Syahirah Hj Abdul Majid from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Sengkurong, Albert Quet Moncherry from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Meragang, Mohamed Nabil Bin Mohamed Hairol from Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah, Lee Jing Jing from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan and Muhd Luqman Al-Hakim Bin Aliuddin from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Tutong.​


The delegation is co-lead by Cikgu Norlela binti Puasa, an Education Officer from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Belait and Cikgu Wahidatu Ashriha binti Ya’akub, an Education Officer from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Sengkurong, respectively.

 

The program will be filled with visits to educational and research institutes, and places of interest in Japan such as the Tokyo University, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Sophia University, and the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation “Miraikan”. The participants will also attend lectures and conduct presentations during the program. Groups of student participants from all of the participating countries are required to produce presentation slides on their respective countries and their cultures to be presented and performed during the program with the other international participants.
