On May 28, 2024, the PTET Principal, Deputy Principal, and Student Welfare Senior Mistress attended a workshop on Updating Forms for Special Needs Students. Held at Sekolah Rendah Pintu Malim in Kota Batu, the session aimed to enhance the administrative processes for supporting special needs students. The workshop provided crucial insights and updated protocols to accommodate and support these students’ unique requirements. PTET’s leadership participation underscores the school’s commitment to inclusivity and ensuring all students receive the necessary resources and support. This initiative aligns with PTET’s ongoing efforts to foster an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

PTET Joins Workshop on School CCA Data Collection Using MESH System (27.05.2024)

On Monday, May 27, 2024, the Co-Curricular Education Department’s Planning and Research Division held a workshop on collecting Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) information using the MESH system. The workshop guided teachers on updating school CCA data via MESH, ensuring comprehensive and up-to-date records. Accurate data is crucial for departmental reports and understanding current co-curricular activities. 


Tutors from PTET participated, contributing to improved data management. This initiative supports better planning and development of student-focused programs, enhancing the co-curricular landscape in schools.

Farewell and Appreciation for an Extraordinary Educator

Today, we bid a heartfelt farewell to an incredible tutor and mentor who has left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of many at PTET. Since 2004, Mr. Raja has been a beacon of knowledge and inspiration in Brunei. His journey with PTET began in 2011, right from its inception, and since then, he has been an integral part of our educational community.


Mr. Raja has been a cornerstone of PTET, teaching General Paper with unparalleled passion and dedication. His ability to ignite curiosity and foster critical thinking in his students has been nothing short of remarkable. Beyond the classroom, his contributions have been multifaceted and impactful.


As PTET’s official photographer, Mr. Raja has captured countless memories, preserving the essence of our school’s vibrant culture. His eye for detail and artistic flair have turned every photograph into a cherished moment. Additionally, his role as a senior-level debate coach has shaped the oratory skills and confidence of many students, leading them to numerous successes and personal growth.


His creative prowess extended to coordinating and designing school media-related projects, where his vision and expertise brought ideas to life in ways that have consistently impressed and inspired us all.

As Mr. Raja returns to his hometown in Malaysia, we want to express our deepest gratitude for his unwavering commitment, his innovative spirit, and his heartfelt dedication to the PTET community. His legacy will continue to inspire us, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Dr. Onn Joins 9th Singapore-Brunei Youth Leaders Exchange Programme (27.05.2024)

PTET Tutor, Dr. Onn, embarked on a transformative journey as part of the 9th Singapore-Brunei Youth Leaders Exchange Programme in Singapore from May 27th to May 31st, 2024, under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. 

This prestigious initiative facilitated cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration among emerging leaders from both nations. Dr. Onn’s participation signifies PTET’s commitment to fostering global perspectives and nurturing leadership qualities among its faculty. The exchange program offered invaluable opportunities for networking, learning, and cultural immersion, empowering Dr. Onn to contribute meaningfully to educational innovation and international cooperation in the future.

On May 24, 2024, PTET tutors attended a briefing on Government Officials' Conduct Regulations and Disciplinary Procedures, specifically tailored for Ministry of Education (MOE) officers. The session provided an in-depth understanding of the standards and expectations for government officials within the education sector, emphasizing the importance of integrity and professionalism. Tutors were educated on the various disciplinary procedures and the consequences of non-compliance, ensuring they were well-equipped to adhere to these regulations. The briefing reinforced PTET's commitment to upholding high ethical standards and fostering a culture of accountability. Participants were left with valuable knowledge to guide their conduct and responsibilities as MOE officers.

Basic Counselling Training Session for PTET Tutors - Day 2 of 2 (23.05.2024)


On 23rd May 2024, PTET tutors completed their two-day basic counselling training. This essential program aimed to equip tutors with fundamental counselling skills to better support students’ emotional and psychological well-being.



The second day of the training focused on practical applications, role-playing scenarios, and interactive workshops, building on the theoretical knowledge gained on the first day. The sessions were well-received, with tutors expressing confidence in their enhanced ability to provide meaningful support to students. This initiative underscores PTET’s commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive educational environment for both staff and students.



PTET Netball Team Competed in BDSN Premier Cup 2024 (23.05.2024)

PTET Netball team demonstrated their prowess at the BDSN Premier Cup 2024, held at Sekolah Menengah Awang Semaun on May 23rd, 2024. 


While securing victory against Sekolah Menengah Masin, they encountered a tough challenge against Anthony Able College, ending in defeat. Despite the outcome, the school commends the team’s sportsmanship and unwavering dedication. PTET remains proud of their efforts, encouraging them to maintain their spirit for future matches and tournaments. The team’s commitment reflects PTET’s holistic approach to development.

PTET Tutors to Attend Workshop on Introduction to TAFIS 2.0 (22.05.2024)

On 22nd May 2024, PTET tutors and staff responsible for finance administration attended a workshop on “Introduction to Tafis 2.0.” Held last Wednesday at the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE) from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, the briefing provided attendees with valuable insights into the functionalities and benefits of the new Tafis 2.0 system. 




This training is set to enhance their efficiency and accuracy in handling financial tasks within the school, ensuring better resource management and streamlined administrative processes. The participants left the workshop equipped with enhanced skills and knowledge, ready to implement Tafis 2.0 in their daily operations.

PTET L6 (2024) student, Luqman attends Sakura Science Programme, Japan (22.5.2024)





Berakas - Ministry of Education through Science, Technology and Environment Partnership Centre (STEP Centre), has nominated five (05) students and two (02) supervising teachers to participate in the Sakura Science High School Program (SSHP) 2024 organised by Japan Science And Technology Agency (JST), on the 19th – 25th May 2024, in Japan.

The selected students are those who are studying at the Pre-U level aged 15 and above and based on their excellence and interest in Science and Technology. The program aims to expose students to Japan’s science and technology, culture, and people in a multilateral environment by visiting leading universities and research institutions, attend lectures on advanced science and technology and experiencing the cutting-edge of science and technology, including hands-on experiments demonstrated by world-leading scientists. In addition, the program also aims to foster multilateral interaction and strengthen ties with the students from Japan, India, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, and Thailand and hence also to broaden the experiences of our students in Japanese culture and the people.

 

The members of the delegation are Nurfa'eqah Syahirah Hj Abdul Majid from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Sengkurong, Albert Quet Moncherry from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Meragang, Mohamed Nabil Bin Mohamed Hairol from Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah, Lee Jing Jing from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan and Muhd Luqman Al-Hakim Bin Aliuddin from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Tutong.​


The delegation is co-lead by Cikgu Norlela binti Puasa, an Education Officer from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Belait and Cikgu Wahidatu Ashriha binti Ya’akub, an Education Officer from Pusat Tingkatan Enam Sengkurong, respectively.

 

The program will be filled with visits to educational and research institutes, and places of interest in Japan such as the Tokyo University, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Sophia University, and the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation “Miraikan”. The participants will also attend lectures and conduct presentations during the program. Groups of student participants from all of the participating countries are required to produce presentation slides on their respective countries and their cultures to be presented and performed during the program with the other international participants.
