PTET QS Camp to empower positive youth leadership (1.12.2017)

A total of fifty-six Lower Sixth Year 12 student leaders from the Students’ Council and Peer Guiders of the Tutong Sixth Form Centre (PTE Tutong) are beginning their temporary leave from home in a three days- and three nights- camp within the college vicinity.

The camp, titled Qa’id Assyumul (QS Camp 2017), an Arabic expression which loosely translates to Holistic Student Leader, has been a regular and annual fixture of the institution’s end-of-year activities. The camp this year, themed Golden Theme began on the 28th November and concluded on the 1st December. 





Cg Azrin bin Hj Bolhassan, who heads the Student Leadership Development Unit (SLDU) of the college said, “we believe our student leaders can become vital assets and pillars of the nation’s growth in the future, hence we wish to expose them to all these informative courses and exemplary characteristics in line with the Sultanate’s Vision 2035”.





Parents accompanied the students during the official opening and launching of the camp yesterday, by the Principal, Cg Hjh Murni bte Abdullah. Cg Raihan binti Hj Nokman, the head of Students’ Council and Cg Norhaslinda binti Hj Adnan, the college’s Counsellor were also present.





To improve interpersonal communication, the Brunei Amateur Drama Society (BADS) will conduct a workshop with the attendees. The National Service (PKBN) would also deliver a motivational talk regarding student leadership, sharing of experience as guidance to become a quality leader. 


Another highlight would be the visit to a local primary school as well as a MasterChef cooking competition. The former intends to expose the student leaders towards the importance of volunteering and outreach while the latter aims to cultivate the spirit of togetherness and team spirit.

PTET joins in Maulidur Rasul procession in Tutong (2.12.2017)

PTET was represented by the Muslim male community comprising of tutors, non-teaching staff and students in the Maulidur Rasul 1439H/ 2017 procession in Tutong Town this morning. 

Cg Almasri bin Haji Sulaiman headed the college's delegation.

PTET represented for Sunburst Youth Science Camp, Singapore (30.11.2017)

Khoo Soon Ming (L6-3) will represent PTET as part of the Brunei student delegation for the Sunburst Youth Science Camp, 3rd-9th December, in Singapore.

The school wishes him a safe and fruitful educational trip. Cg Almasri, Deputy Principal (administration) handed Khoo Soon Ming a small contribution from the school for his upcoming trip.

PTE Tutong works hand-in-hand with parents to beautify school (28.11.2017)

The Principal of PTE Tutong, Cg Hjh Murni binti Abdullah and the Chairperson of the college's Parent Teacher Association (PTET-PIBG), Awang Hj Amit bin Hj Omar, launched the logo of the organisation, as designed by its members.

The event was followed by each sport house beautifying the college's compound through planting and giving the school's landscape a facelift. Students and teachers as well as the PTET-PIBG divided tasks and set to complete their respective tasks in their respective zones throughout the morning.

Trustworthy emerges overall champion of 2017 PTET Athletics and Tracks Competition (27.11.2017)

In the penultimate event of the Sports Day, the guest of honour, Awang Ajamain bin Hj Othman, the Head of the Tutong District Co-Curriculum, Curriculum Education Department, Ministry of Education was present to formally launch the start of the day and subsequently mingled with the head of houses.

In the highly anticipated final tug-of-war, Perseverance beat Trustworthy in two rounds. In the special category of the tug-of-war between college staff and Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG), the latter won comfortably.

In terms of overall medal tally, Trustworthy is the champion of the year 2017, with Team Synergy, Excellence and Perseverance trailing not far behind.

PTET teams in valiant display despite loss in OGDC Science Show Final (26.11.2017)

PTET students proudly represented the college in the final round of the OGDC science communications fair after making it through the preliminary selection round few months ago.


The students in the final were,
1) Muhammad Syahmi bin Hj Kamaluddin (L6-3)
2) Muhammad Afif Ruzaini bin Muhammad Sofian (L6-1)
3) Fatin Aimuni binti Hj Suffian (L6-3)
4) Nurul Afiyah Huang binti Mohammed Faiz Nabil (L6-3)






They were supported by science department tutors:
1) Cg Teo Kui Sheng
2) Cg Siti Rohaini

The teams fought valiantly, but other teams were deemed better by the panel of judges. The college congratulates the boys and girls participating, for their best effort and countless hours spent perfecting their prepared speeches.

All participating teams were presented certificates before the competition closed. Very well done.
